Are Finance Faculties Open to Diversity?

The business case for women in finance is compelling, as is the case for women in academic leadership.  However, despite significant achievements over the last decade, the proportion of women in academic finance remains low and research in this area is practically non-existent.  We propose to conduct statistical analysis of hand collected data from economics, finance and accounting disciplines in institutions, to evaluate the extent of the issue. We will then conduct focus groups of finance academics and develop a survey to measure the diversity climate of finance, economics and accounting schools.  Drawing inference from this data, we will be able to propose tangible solutions to address the low levels of women in finance.  Our research output will be posted here in late 2018.  Please subscribe below to receive our research updates.
